Want a professional lighting solution that you can carry around in your pocket? Check outRelio, a new pint-sized light that aims to put serious lighting potential in the palm of your hand.
The product was developed over the past year by Marco Bozzola, a 26-year-old hardware tinkerer based in Italy. Bozzola tells us that Relio is specifically designed to rendering colors naturally, and, despite its tiny 35mm size, is the most powerful (~200 lumens) USB-powered light available on the market.
It also claims to offer the highest color accuracy of similar products on the market. The three models (3000K, 3500K, and 4500K) all feature a color rendering index (CRI) of 92-96.
The lighting is also clean and even, offering “ultra-even, buttery-smooth illumination” that competitors can’t match:
Physically, the Relio has an all aluminum body, a USB port as its power source, the ability to mount colored gels, and a standard 1/4-20 tripod screw thread.
Here are some sample setups and photos captured using the Relio:
Here’s a short little commercial introducing the Relio:
You can purchase a Relio from the official website for €69 (~$108) and about $30 in shipping.
